Abstract
The major problem of this study is gender inequality in the society as reflected in Laura Conway`s For a Dream`s Sake. The aim of this study is to analyze the novel based on the structural elements and to analyze the novel based on the feminist theory. In analyzing For a Dream’s Sake novel, the writer uses the qualitative method and Feminist Perspective. The data sources are primary data source and secondary data sources. The primary data source is the novel For A Dream’s Sake written by Laura Conway published in London, 1967, and secondary data sources are taken from other sources such as author biography, essay, comments, historical information and other relevant information. The method of the data collection is library research. The technique of data analysis is descriptive analysis. The outcome of the study shows the following conclusion. First, literary work may reflect the social reality about woman’s struggle to face the social value in order to get the same right and opportunity as men. Second, Laura Conway wants to say that women and men are created equally. The last, the author wants to assert that everyone has strength and weakness as the power to be someone she or he wants.
