Abstract
The objectives of this research are to describe the translation variations of prepositional phrase in the guide book of Nokia 3120 translated into Panduan Nokia 3120. And to find the accuracy in translating prepositional phrase used in the guide book. In this research, the researcher employs a descriptive qualitative method. The data of this research are taken from guide book of Nokia 3120 and its Indonesian translation Panduan Nokia 3120. The researcher uses 189 data. The data can be classified based on the forms of their translations in two variations, they are English prepositional phrase is translated into Indonesian prepositional phrase, variation English prepositional phrase The researcher uses comparison method to analyse the equivalence of the message between the translation and the original text. The result of the research show that first there are three variations form in the guided book of Nokia 3120, they are: English prepositional phrase is translated into Indonesian prepositional phrase, with the total of data 128 from 189 data or 66,6 %. The Variationenglish prepositional phrase, with the total of data 63 or 33,4 % from 189 data. Second, the accuracy of translation is divided into two, they are accurate translation, with the total of data is 181 from 189 data or 95,8% and the inaccurate translation, with the total of data is 8 from 189 data or 4,2%. So the researcher concludes that English prepositional phrase translation in the guide book of Nokia 3120 is a good translation.
