Abstract

Noise is a sound that is unwanted from manufacture or activity in the certain extent and time that may cause human health problems and environment comfort. High intensity of noise not only affects hearing sense damage but also causes some physiological disorders such as pulse improvement. The objective of the study is to know the effects of noise intensity toward the improvement of pulse on process and finishing department at PT. Iskandar Indah Printing textile of Surakarta. The method of the study is explanatory study using cross sectional approach. The population is the entire workers on process and finishing department at PT. Iskandar Indah Printing textile of 114 people. The statistic test uses Independent Simple t-Test using SPSS 16. The result of the study shows that the noise intensity in weaving is more than NAB determined that is 100.27 dB(A) using highest intensity value of 103 dB(A) and the lowest intensity value is 97 dB(A), while the mean of noise intensity on finishing department is 80 dB(A) with the highest intensity of 82 dB(A) and the lowest intensity is 72 dB(A). The result of statistic test in the study is the existence of noise intensity toward the improvement of pulse on weaving and finishing department at PT. Iskandar Indah Printing Textile of Surakarta. Of the significance value (p) 0.000 meaning that p ≤ 0.05 and t = 9,558 on the department of weaving and 0.000 meaning that p ≤ 0.05 and t = 8,779 on the department of finishing. It can be concluded that there is influence of noise intensity on the increase of workers artery pulse.
