Abstract

Slope stability is one of the important aspects in the planning of constructions located in areas with steep topographic conditions. The presence of Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) channels and roads on slopes can impose additional loads that potentially affect slope stability. This study aims to analyze changes in the safety factor and slope deformation patterns due to the presence of WWTP channels under empty and full conditions as well as road loading. The research object is a slope in the DED Wastewater Pipeline Network Project area, Core Area of Nusantara Capital City (KIIP-IKN), North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province. The data used include boring log data B1-1, Cone Penetration Test (CPT) S1-1, slope geometry, and loading data. Analysis was conducted using the finite element method with PLAXIS 2D software and the Mohr-Coulomb material model. The safety factor was determined using the phi/c reduction method. through the ΣMsf values. The analysis was conducted under three conditions, namely natural slopes, slopes with a WWTP and road load, and slopes with a full WWTP and road load. The analysis results indicate that the safety factor of the natural slope is 2.17, then decreases to 1.602 after the addition of the WWTP and road load. Under the condition of a full WWTP and road load, the safety factor further decreases to 1.22. All three conditions still meet the safety factor criteria used in the study. These results indicate that the addition of the WWTP load and the full WWTP condition cause a reduction in the safety factor, but the slopes under all three analysis conditions still remain within the acceptable requirements used.
