Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of changes in Intake Manifold length on torque, power, and specific fuel consumption (SFC) on a 110 cc automatic motorcycle with an injection system. The research method used is an experimental method with the object of research in the form of a 110 cc automatic motorcycle that uses a 26 mm diameter throttle body and a 26 mm diameter intake manifold. The variations in Intake Manifold length used are 60 mm, 70 mm, and 90 mm and compared with the standard condition of 75 mm. Performance testing was carried out using a dynotest in the engine speed range of 2000–8000 rpm. The results showed that the standard condition produces a maximum torque of 15.91 Nm at 2582 rpm and a maximum power of 6.9 HP at 7255 rpm. The variation in Intake Manifold length of 60 mm produces a maximum torque of 16.60 Nm and a maximum power of 7.3 HP, while the 70 mm variation produces a maximum torque of 16.70 Nm and a maximum power of 7.5 HP. The highest torque was obtained at a variation of the 90 mm Intake Manifold length of 16.90 Nm at 3022 rpm with a maximum power of 7.6 HP at 3398 rpm. The results of the study indicate that the use of a 90 mm Intake Manifold can improve engine performance compared to standard conditions. This increase indicates that the length of the Intake Manifold affects the efficiency of filling the air and fuel mixture so that it can be used as an alternative modification to improve the performance of a 110 cc automatic motorcycle.
