Abstract
This study analyzes the mental workload of barecore production workers at PT. Duta Albasy using the NASA-TLX and Rating Scale Mental Effort (RSME) methods. PT. Duta Albasy is a wood-processing manufacturing company that involves physical and mental activities in the Lem, Cold Press, and Sezing processes, with work environment conditions characterized by high temperature, noise, and repetitive tasks. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires distributed to 19 respondents on the morning shift. The data were processed by calculating the NASA-TLX score, the average RSME scale, and a comparative test to determine differences in the measurement results of the two methods. The NASA-TLX measurement results showed an average mental workload score of 60.035, which is included in the high category. The RSME measurement results obtained an average score of 70.246, which is included in the category of fairly large effort. In NASA-TLX, the most dominant indicator was effort level at 23%, while in RSME, workload and mental work effort obtained the highest percentage at 18%. The comparative test results showed differences in measurement results between the two methods. Improvement recommendations include adding an ergonomic support table beside the Cold Press machine and the proposed adding an industrial exhaust or turbin ventilator.
