Abstract

Based on the publication of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) in Livestock Statistics 2025, the national poultry population has reached 3.96 billion birds, of which 83.37% or ap-proximately 3.30 billion birds are broiler chickens. Broiler meat production is projected to increase by 10.95% to 4.25 million tons in 2025. This massive production scale demands modern and efficient cage management; however, conventional manual monitoring remains a major obstacle as it is unable to respond to changes in environmental conditions quickly and accurately. This study aims to design and implement an ESP32-based IoT system for real-time monitoring and control of poultry cage environments using the Blynk IoT platform. The system integrates four sensors: DHT22 (temperature and humidity), MQ-135 (ammonia gas NH3), BH1750 (light intensity), and Load Cell+HX711 (feed weight). All data is displayed on the Blynk dashboard on a smartphone, and push notifications are sent automatically when parameters exceed critical threshold values. The method used is a real prototype on a labora-tory-scale cage. Threshold-based automatic control includes a ventilation fan (temperature and ammonia), LED lighting (illumination), and an automatic feed dispenser via a servo mo-tor. Testing was carried out through unit testing of sensor accuracy and integration testing of system responsiveness, analyzed descriptively based on sensor reading data relative to the actual cage environmental conditions.. The targeted output is an accurate and affordable IoT monitoring prototype for poultry cages without dependence on paid cloud services.
