Abstract

Roudlotul Jannah Islamic Boarding School (Pondok Pesantren Mahasiswa) in Surakarta faces limited housing facilities, as the growth in the number of students has outpaced the available dormitory capacity, leaving a number of female students living outside the boarding school environment and resulting in less optimal guidance and supervision. This condition highlights the need to design a female dormitory building capable of accommodating housing needs while meeting structural safety standards. This study aims to design a three-story female dormitory building that accommodates supporting facilities on the ground floor and residential rooms on the upper floors, with safe structural element dimensions in accordance with applicable standards. The design method applies the Ordinary Moment Resisting Frame system (SRPMB), referring to SNI 2847:2019, SNI 1726:2019, and SNI 1727:2020, using Tekla Structural Designer (TSD) software for the analysis and modeling of slab, beam, and column structural elements, which were then compared with manual calculation results. The design results produced structural element dimensions of 300/600 mm for main beams, 250/500 mm for secondary beams, 500/600 mm for columns, and a 130 mm thick slab. The longitudinal reinforcement for beams consisted of 9D16 bars for the top reinforcement and 7D16 bars for the bottom reinforcement, with Ø10-225 stirrups. Columns used 10D22 longitudinal reinforcement with Ø10-200 shear reinforcement, while floor and roof slabs used D10-200 reinforcement. Comparison with manual calculations showed slightly different stirrup quantities and spacing. The design process was successfully carried out in accordance with the applicable stages and standard requirements, although the drawings produced by the software still require adjustments to present technical information more clearly.
