Abstract

Manual stock recording often leads to various issues, ranging from inaccurate inventory data and transaction recording errors to time-consuming reporting processes. Toko Raja Aki faces similar challenges, as it currently relies on logbooks for inventory tracking. Addressing these issues, this study aims to design and develop a web-based inventory management system to facilitate more effective stock management by implementing the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) and Reorder Point (ROP) methods. The system was developed using the Waterfall approach, encompassing requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Technically, the system was built using the Next.js framework, utilizes PostgreSQL hosted on Neon Database, and is deployed via the Vercel platform. The FIFO method manages the sequence of stock outflows based on arrival times, while the ROP method triggers automatic notifications when stock levels reach a minimum threshold. Implementation results demonstrate that the developed system effectively supports a more structured and efficient inventory management process. Black-box testing yielded an average score of 3.67, placing it in the "Very Good" category. Meanwhile, a System Usability Scale (SUS) evaluation involving 30 respondents resulted in a score of 85, falling into the "Acceptable" category with a "Grade A" rating and an "Excellent" assessment level. These findings indicate that the system is highly usable and intuitive, effectively meeting user needs for inventory management.
