Abstract

The development of higher education facilities demands improvements in the quality of space and the integration of the campus area to support academic activities. As an Islamic-based university, the State Islamic University (UIN) Salatiga continues to grow, but the existing area still presents several problems, such as suboptimal spatial function, limited supporting facilities, and unintegrated relationships between buildings. Furthermore, based on the Post-Occupancy Evaluation (EPH) approach, the quality of space comfort, accessibility, and completeness of facilities do not fully meet user needs, necessitating a more optimal and integrated restructuring of the campus area. The objective of this design is to redesign the UIN Salatiga Integrated Campus area to be more optimal, integrated, and able to meet user needs by applying an Islamic architectural approach as the basis for the design. The methods used include field observation, documentation, literature review, and qualitative descriptive analysis, supported by the Post-Occupancy Evaluation (EPH). The results of the analysis are then synthesized into a design that encompasses site layout, building massing, circulation systems, and the application of Islamic architectural principles, resulting in a more comfortable, efficient, and Islamically-informed campus design.
