Abstract

This design discusses a Cultural Arts Center in Klaten Regency with the concept Paseban Rasa: Spatial Event as Collective Cultural Arts Center, using a contextual architectural approach. The design is motivated by the high potential of arts and culture in Klaten, which is not yet supported by adequate and integrated facilities. The method used is a qualitative approach through literature studies, field observations, and data analysis to formulate the design concept. The main concept applied is spatial event as a collective space, where space functions not only physically but also accommodates social interaction, cultural activities, and emotional experiences of users. The contextual approach is implemented through massing composition, material selection, and integration with the surrounding environment to create a design that responds to the local culture of Klaten. The design result is a cultural arts center consisting of public, performance, exhibition, educational, and service zones that are integrated through a clear circulation system. This design is expected to serve as a sustainable platform for cultural activities while strengthening local cultural identity and enhancing tourism attractiveness in Klaten Regency.
