Abstract

The design of an Agricultural Research Hub in Surakarta aims to accomodate research, education, and agricultural development activities within an integrated facility. This project responds to challenges in urban agriculture, including limited land availability, climate change, and the growing need for modern agricultural technologies that support sustainable food security. The farm-to-office system is implemented by integrating cultivation, research, processing, and distrribution activities into the workplace environment, creating a closer connection between users and approach is applied to enhance user comfort, health, and psychological well-being. The design method involves site analysis, spatial programming, functional relationship analysis, and the application of sustainable design principles that are responsive to local climatic conditions. The resulting design demonstrates that integrating agricultural, research, and workplace functions can create an efficient, interactive,educational, and user-oriented environment that promotes overall well-being.
