Abstract
The digital era's rise in dating app usage presents opportunities for Online Gender-Based Violence (OGBV). This empirical juridical study with a sociology of law approach analyzes the role and law enforcement obstacles of the Purwodadi Regional Police in handling these cases. Data were collected via literature review and in-depth interviews at the Women and Children Protection Unit (Unit PPA), followed by descriptive-qualitative analysis. The results indicate that police efforts comprise preventive (socialization) and repressive (investigation) measures, yet face distinct obstacles at each stage. Socialization is hindered internally by limited cybercrime personnel and lack of target-specific programs, and externally by low public digital literacy. Meanwhile, report reception is restricted internally by the uneven distribution of gender-based case training for SPKT officers, and externally by victims' psychological trauma due to cyber intimidation (such as revenge porn threats) which delays reporting until digital evidence is lost. Consequently, it is recommended that the Purwodadi Regional Police enhance the cyber competence of front-line officers and establish integrated victim recovery frameworks with regional cross-sectoral institutions.
