Abstract
The moral crisis among adolescents has become an increasingly concerning issue, as reflected in the rising number of school violence cases and children in conflict with the law in recent years. This condition underscores the growing importance of the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in instilling akhlakul karimah (noble character), particularly through religious programs based on Al-Qur'an memorization (tahfidz). This study aims to identify the efforts of PAI teachers in integrating akhlakul karimah values into the tahfidz Al-Qur'an program, as well as to describe the program's impact on changes in students' behavior at SMP Ta'mirul Islam Surakarta. This study employs a qualitative field research design with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the tahfidz teacher, direct observation of the program's implementation, and supporting documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings show that the PAI teacher carries out her role through five interrelated dimensions, namely as an educator, counselor, role model, motivator, and evaluator. The akhlakul karimah values instilled encompass akhlak toward Allah, akhlak toward others, akhlak toward oneself, and akhlak toward the environment, which are consistently integrated into the daily tahfidz routine through habituation and direct exemplary conduct by the teacher. The program's impact on students who actively and consistently participate is reflected in increased time discipline, honesty, and improved manners, although these changes remain at a transitional stage that requires ongoing supervision from the teacher.
