Abstract
This This study aims to analyze the representation of humor in the Agak Laen Podcast using Roland Barthes’ semiotic approach to reveal cultural values and social relations in digital media. This descriptive qualitative study examines three episodes featuring Gisella Anastasia, Marsha Aruan, and Yunita Siregar. Data were collected through documentation and transcript analysis, then interpreted using Barthes’ concepts of denotation, connotation, and myth, supported by Stuart Hall’s theory of representation. The findings show that humor functions not only as entertainment but also as a means of representing cultural identity, strengthening social relations, and conveying implicit social criticism. Language, dialect, intonation, gestures, and facial expressions represent Batak cultural values, including openness, solidarity, and kinship. Thus, the Agak Laen Podcast serves as a digital communication medium that represents cultural identity and social relations through humor.
