Abstract
Inadequate management of cow manure waste can cause environmental pollution while reducing its economic potential. This study aims to analyze the potential production of biogas and organic fertilizer and evaluate the investment feasibility of cow manure utilization at Ari Setyawan's cattle trading business in Glonggong Hamlet, Nogosari District. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and literature review. The results indicate that 270 kg of cow manure per day can produce 8.1 m³ of biogas daily, supplying energy to approximately 16 households. In addition, the system generates 19 bags of solid organic fertilizer (5 kg each) and 758 bottles of liquid organic fertilizer (500 ml each) per day. The investment feasibility analysis over a 10-year planning horizon with a 10% discount rate shows an initial investment requirement of IDR 94,201,850 and annual operating costs of IDR 1,574,175,600. Financial evaluation results reveal a Net Present Value (NPV) of IDR 131,605,896.50, an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 39%, a Payback Period (PP) of 2.10 years, and a Benefit-Cost Ratio (BCR) of 1.0134. These findings indicate that the project is technically and financially feasible while supporting the implementation of a circular economy approach.
