Abstract
This study aims to describe errors in the use of coordinating conjunctions and adverbs in argumentation texts of students of Class XI TE-B SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta, focusing on coordinating conjunctions including “dan (and), atau (or), serta (and), tetapi (but), sedangkan (whereas), padahal (whereas), and melainkan (but).” whereas, but and the like that connect clauses or sentences. Adverbs analyzed include adverbs of time and place to clarify students ' arguments. The research method used is descriptive qualitative sampling of data sources conducted purposively and snowball, triangulation techniques (combined). Data in the form of the argumentation text written by the students of Class XI TE-B SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta, analyzed by reducing data errors in the use of coordinating conjunctions and adverbs. The study identified a series of errors, namely: errors in the use of coordinating conjunctions, including the use of conjunctions that do not align with their semantic functions; excessive repetition of coordinating conjunctions (pleonasm); the use of non-standard word forms; the absence of conjunctions indicating detail; and the placement of intrasentential conjunctions at the beginning of a sentence. Meanwhile, errors in the use of adverbs included inaccuracies in the selection of prepositions indicating place and time, confusion regarding direction or location, and the use of non-standard adverbial pharases and redundance
