Abstract
This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the value of Indonesia’s fisheries exports to ASEAN member countries during the 2015–2024 period. The independent variables used include the Gross Domestic Product of the destination country (GDPJ), the rupiah exchange rate (Exchange Rate), the Fish Price Index (FPI), and distance (Distance), while the dependent variable is the value of Indonesia’s fisheries exports. The study uses panel data from nine ASEAN countries with a gravity model approach estimated using the Poisson Pseudo Maximum Likelihood (PPML) method. The results show that, taken together, all independent variables have a significant effect on Indonesia’s fisheries exports, with a Wald chisquared value of 103.79 and a p-value of 0.0000. The Pseudo R² value of 0.5851 indicates that the model explains 58.51% of the variation in exports. Partially, the GDP of the destination country and distance have a positive and significant effect on Indonesia’s fisheries exports, while the exchange rate and the Fish Price Index (FPI) do not have a significant effect. The results of this study show that the economic conditions of destination countries and trade relations between countries are important factors in driving Indonesia’s fisheries exports to the ASEAN region. Therefore, policies are needed to support increased product competitiveness, strengthened trade cooperation, and improved logistics efficiency for Indonesia’s fisheries exports.
