Abstract

Network topology learning requires supporting media that can help students understand the concepts and application of various network topologies in a more interactive way. Interviews with students at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta indicated difficulties in understanding network topology material and limited supporting learning media. This study aimed to develop an Android-based network topology educational game and determine its feasibility as supporting media for computer network learning. The study employed Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The product was developed using Construct 3 supported by Photoshop and CorelDRAW. The evaluation included media expert validation, material expert validation, user testing using the System Usability Scale (SUS), and compatibility testing. Media expert validation resulted in an Aiken’s V value of 0.871 and Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.992. Material expert validation resulted in an Aiken’s V value of 0.927 and Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.943. User testing involving 10 students obtained an interpretation score of 79%, categorized as good/feasible. Compatibility testing on five smartphone devices/series achieved a 100% success rate. These findings indicate that the Android-based network topology educational game is feasible to be used as supporting media for computer network learning.
