Abstract

The Kebon Dalem area in East Purwokerto holds strategic potential as an urban activity center, yet requires revitalization to optimize its function. This study aims to design an Integrated Trading Area as an Urban Catalyst by implementing the Porous Architecture concept based on sustainability values and Islamic principles. The methodology employs technical circulation analysis using Space Syntax (depthmapX) to determine building mass distribution and activity centers within the trading area. The design focuses on the integration of integrated commercial functions, open communal areas, and worship facilities that respect privacy boundaries (mahram). Through a porous architecture approach, this research explores the use of vegetation and natural ventilation systems to create a comfortable microclimate. This research is expected to provide strategies for developing an adaptive, religious, and sustainable trading area.
