Abstract

SPPG X is responsible for distributing the Free Nutritious Meal Program (Makan Bergizi Gratis/MBG) to 22 schools with a total daily demand of 6,091 trays, using four Daihatsu Grandmax vehicles with a capacity of 1,250 trays each. Distribution routes have thus far been determined based on driver experience without systematically considering travel distance and vehicle capacity, resulting in excessive travel distance and operational costs. This research aims to optimize the distribution routes of SPPG X, modeled as a Multi-Trip Vehicle Routing Problem with Split Delivery (MTVRP-SD), using the Nearest Neighbor and Clarke and Wright Savings (CWS) heuristic methods, which are then validated using LINGO software. The results show that the Nearest Neighbor method produces a total distance of 44.39 km with a cost of IDR 44,390.00, while the CWS method produces a distance of 31.10 km with a cost of IDR 31,100.00. The CWS method proved to be the most optimal, achieving a distance saving of 38.79% compared to the existing route of 50.81 km. The LINGO validation results indicate that the developed mathematical model is feasible for implementation, making it a viable reference for SPPG X in improving food distribution efficiency.
