Abstract
The phenomenon of cyberbullying among adolescents has become increasingly alarming in parallel with the rising intensity of social media use. This study aimed to examine the relationship between loneliness and peer conformity with cyberbullying behavior in adolescents. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed. A total of 365 students from SMA Batik 1 Surakarta participated, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using three instruments: the Loneliness Scale, the Peer Conformity Scale, and the Cyberbullying Scale. Data analysis was performed using Pearson Product Moment correlation and multiple linear regression via the Jamovi application. The results indicated: (1) there is a highly significant positive relationship between loneliness and cyberbullying behavior (r = 0.653; p < 0.01); (2) there is a highly significant positive relationship between peer conformity and cyberbullying behavior (r = 0.675; p < 0.01); and (3) there is a highly significant simultaneous relationship between loneliness and peer conformity with cyberbullying behavior (F = 267; R² = 0.596; p < 0.01). The effective contribution of loneliness is 27.9%, while peer conformity contributes 31.7%, with a total simultaneous contribution of 59.6%. All three variables fall into the moderate category. These findings underscore the importance of interventions targeting loneliness and peer group dynamics as effective cyberbullying prevention strategies in school settings. The effective contribution of loneliness was 27.9%, while peer conformity contributed 31.7%, with a combined contribution of 59.6%. All three variables were classified within the moderate category. These findings underscore the importance of interventions targeting loneliness and peer group dynamics as effective cyberbullying prevention strategies in school settings.
