Abstract

Trangsan Village, Sukoharjo Regency, is one of the largest rattan craft industry centers in Indonesia, with high economic and cultural potential. However, production and marketing activities are still scattered, not integrated, and lack representative public facilities, resulting in weak area branding and distribution systems. Therefore, this design aims to create the People's Rattan Craft Market as an integrated space that accommodates production, exhibition, and marketing functions within one area. The approach used is neo-vernacular architecture, which is an approach that adapts local values into modern design by considering cultural aspects, local materials, and the tropical climate. The design method is carried out thru site analysis, area analysis, and a space syntax approach to determine strategic locations based on integration and accessibility levels. The design concept emphasizes the integration of functions between the production area, showroom, and market within a single building, incorporating semi-open spaces, natural ventilation, and the use of local materials such as rattan and wood. The design results are expected to present a building that is not only functional as a trade center but also possesses cultural and esthetic value, as well as strengthening the identity of Trangsan Village as a center for the rattan craft industry based on local wisdom
