Abstract
Quality control of finished goods storage is a crucial aspect in the manufacturing industry to ensure products reach consumers in the best condition. PT Monde Mahkota Biscuits is experiencing issues with damage to finished products in the warehouse, especially to carton and can packaging. This study aims to identify potential failures, analyze causal factors, and provide improvement recommendations using the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) method. Data were collected through field observation, interviews, and documentation studies during the period of January–February 2026. The results of the study show three main types of defects, namely damaged cartons (46%), damaged tins (37%), and damaged shells (16%), totaling 5,444 units. Based on the Pareto diagram, carton and tin damage dominate with a cumulative percentage of 84%. The fishbone analysis identifies six causative factors: human, method, machine, material, measurement, and environment. FMEA calculations resulted in the highest RPN values for the loading/unloading process (504) and internal handling of canned products (448). In conclusion, the main weaknesses lie in the minimal detection system and high operational errors. Improvement suggestions include enhancing loading/unloading procedures, operator training, implementation of stack boundary markings, and strengthening the risk detection system.
