Abstract

Introduction: Mountain climbing is a form of physical activity that involves muscle strength, motor coordination, and high cardiovascular endurance. Cardiovascular endurance describes the ability of the heart and lung system to support continuous activity. The purpose of this study was to analyze changes in heart rate on the cardiovascular endurance of asthmatic patients after mountain climbing, describe the experiences of asthmatic patients related to changes in heart rate after climbing, and identify asthmatic patients' perceptions of cardiovascular endurance. Method: This type of research is qualitative research, using observational research methods, and using a qualitative descriptive approach. Result: Based on the results of the study using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), the level of physical activity in asthmatic and non-asthmatic respondents showed differences. Based on the results of the Six Minute Walk Test (6MWT) study, the distance traveled by asthmatic and non-asthmatic respondents showed differences. Based on the results of the pulse measurements before (pre) and after (post) the implementation of the Six Minute Walk Test (6MWT), there was an increase in pulse rate in all respondents, both asthmatic and non-asthmatic groups. The results of this study showed an increase in pulse rate in all respondents.
