Abstract

Sharia Savings and Loan and Financing Cooperatives (Koperasi Simpan Pinjam dan Pembiayaan Syariah/KSPPS) are Islamic microfinance institutions that play an important role in empowering the community's economy, particularly Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The existence of KSPPS provides access to financing based on Islamic principles, enabling MSME actors to strengthen business capital, expand their businesses, and enhance their economic self-reliance. This study aims to analyze the role of KSPPS Bina Insan Mandiri in improving the economic self-reliance of the community through MSME empowerment, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with field research as the research design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving KSPPS management and MSME members. The data were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that KSPPS Bina Insan Mandiri plays a significant role in enhancing the economic self-reliance of the community through the provision of business capital financing, savings services, and business mentoring for MSME members. The financing provided has contributed to increasing members' income, expanding their business activities, and improving their overall economic conditions.
