Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between gratitude and religiosity and academic resilience among final-year students at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. The study participants were 158 final-year students selected using a purposive sampling technique, with specific criteria: active students in at least their eighth semester and already taking a thesis or final project course. This study employed a quantitative correlational approach. The instruments used were the Gratitude Scale, the Religiosity Scale, and the Academic Resilience Scale. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS 25.0 for Windows. The results showed a significant relationship between gratitude and religiosity simultaneously and academic resilience (F = 73.029; p = 0.000). The partial test results showed that gratitude had a significant positive relationship with academic resilience (t = 9.307; p = 0.000), and religiosity had a significant positive relationship with academic resilience (t = 2.697; p = 0.008). The findings of this study indicate that the higher the gratitude and religiosity possessed by students, the higher their academic resilience. In addition, gratitude has a greater contribution to academic resilience than religiosity. This study is expected to provide a basis for students in improving academic resilience.
