Abstract

This study aims to develop a real-time, website-based restaurant ordering system for Katsukai Resto & Seafood Mas Nur to improve operational efficiency. The problems faced include an ordering process that is still done manually, which takes longer, is prone to recording errors, and makes it difficult to synchronize menu availability between servers and the kitchen staff. Additionally, the process of summarizing daily transactions in the administration and cashier departments remains inefficient and is prone to calculation errors. This study employs a prototyping method that enables continuous system development based on user feedback. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and a literature review. The results show that the prototype, which was evaluated together with the client, was successfully developed into a Laravel- and MySQL-based system that integrates the workflows of administrators, cashiers, customers, and kitchen staff. The system is equipped with features for ordering via QR codes, menu management, real-time kitchen displays, payments, and sales reports. Based on the results of black-box testing, all system functions operated in accordance with the established specifications. Meanwhile, an evaluation using the System Usability Scale (SUS) involving 30 respondents yielded an average score of 87.67, placing the system in the “Excellent” and “Acceptable” categories. Thus, the developed system is capable of supporting restaurant operations more effectively, in an integrated manner, and with ease of use.
