Abstract

A system that can effectively record inventory and support purchasing decisions is required for the management of raw material stock in restaurants. Inventory recording at Katsukai Solo Restaurant is still conducted manually, which often results in data discrepancies, incorrect stock information, and challenges in predicting material needs. The aim of this study is to develop a web-based inventory management system that predicts raw material requirements using the moving average method. The system development uses the prototype method, which includes requirements analysis, design, creation, evaluation, refinement, and implementation. The system is built using Laravel and MySQL. The moving average method is used to calculate the average material usage based on previous data as a basis for forecasting the next period. The main features of the system include material data management, recording incoming and outgoing stock, usage reports, graphs, and purchase recommendations. Meanwhile, the System Usability Scale (SUS) testing, administered to 35 respondents, yielded an average score of 80.93, which falls into the good category. Findings from the black box testing indicated that all functionalities operated properly. As a result, this system can assist Katsukai Restaurant in making better decisions regarding stock management, monitoring, and raw material procurement.
