Abstract

Stable water quality and adequate feed availability are two main factors that determine the success of catfish cultivation. This research focuses on the design and implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT) based system that is able to monitor water quality parameters while automating the feeding process, with an ESP32 microcontroller as the main control unit. To support this function, the system is equipped with several supporting components, namely a pH sensor, a TDS sensor, a DS18B20 temperature sensor, a DS3231 real-time clock module, a servo motor for the feeder mechanism, a peristaltic pump that functions to add pH Up and pH Down solutions, and integration with the Blynk application for remote monitoring purposes. A Mekanisme Pengendalian pH approach is used in managing the pH control logic, with normal conditions in the range of 6.5 to 7.5, standby conditions if the value is below 6.0 or above 8.0, and emergency conditions if the value drops below 5.0 or rises above 9.5. The test results showed that the DS18B20 temperature sensor achieved an accuracy of 98.13%, the pH sensor 97.16%, and the TDS sensor 94.54%. The test also demonstrated that the system can recognize changes in water pH and respond by automatically activating the pump without manual intervention. On the feeding side, the feeder mechanism was proven to work well through automatic scheduling and manual operation, either via physical buttons or through the Blynk application. In addition to these control functions, the system is also capable of sending sensor data and actuator status to the Blynk application continuously and directly. In general, the research results prove that the system built can function properly in monitoring water quality while carrying out automatic feeding in catfish cultivation ponds.
