Abstract

Budget efficiency policy is a government effort to optimize the effective use of financial resources to achieve maximum results. This policy has attracted public and media attention due to its relevance to state financial management and its impact on society. This study aims to analyze how Kompas.com and Detik.com frame news related to government budget efficiency. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data in the form of 64 news articles published between February 1-28, 2025. The analysis uses the Semetko and Valkenburg framing model, which includes five frames: attribution of responsibility, economic consequences, conflict, human interests, and morality. The results show that the responsibility attribution frame is the most dominant, placing the government as the primary party. The economic consequences and conflict frames are also used to describe the impact of policies and disagreements, while the human interests and morality frames appear to be the least.
