Abstract
The marriage is scary phenomenon is increasingly discussed on platform X and has the potential to shape negative perceptions of marriage among Generation Z. This study aims to analyze the influence of content on platform X on the marriage is scary perceptions among Gen Z students at UMS. This study employs an explanatory quantitative approach grounded in the Uses dan Effect Theory proposed by Sven Windahl in1979. The study population consist of active UMS students who use platform X, are unmarried, and belong to Generation Z. Sampling was conduted using a purposive sampling technique through the Slovin formula, with 176 respondents participating. Data were gathered via an online survey using a 1-4 rating scale and examined through simple linear regression employing SPSS software. The results of this study indicate that X social media content has significant influence on the marriage is scary perception among Gen Z students at UMS. This is evidenced by the t-test, whis yielded a t-value of 9,964 with a significance of 0,000 < 0,05, leading to the acceptance of Ha, confirming that X social media content about marriage significantly influences the marriage is scary perception among Gen Z students at UMS.
