Abstract
Law enforcement in motorcycle theft cases handled by the Ngawi Regency Police during the 2024-2025 period. Motorcycle theft is identified as a conventional street crime that disturbs the community due to the high economic and psychological losses. This study uses an empirical juridical approach by examining primary data from the field through interviews and secondary data in the form of laws and regulations and related legal literature. Regulations regarding motorcycle theft are based on Article 362 of the Criminal Code as the main form, as well as Articles 363 and 365 of the Criminal Code for aggravated or violent theft. Statistical data shows a significant decrease in cases in the Ngawi Police area, from 26 cases in 2024 to 4 cases until April 2025. Law enforcement carried out includes stages of investigation and inquiry in accordance with the procedures in the Criminal Procedure Code to collect evidence and find suspects. Although the Ngawi Police are considered responsive and professional by victims, there are still several major obstacles in law enforcement, namely the limited number of human resources that cause a backlog of reports, the lack of information technology facilities to track perpetrators who use online sales modes, and the lack of preventive education to the public regarding vehicle security. This study recommends the need to strengthen the quality of the cyber team and increase the intensity of patrols and counseling to create a safer environment.
