Abstract
The learning of Islamic Religious Education and Character (Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti) that is still dominated by conventional methods tends to result in low student engagement and learning achievement. Therefore, an innovative learning model is needed to improve student participation in the learning process. One of the models that can be applied is the Numbered Head Together (NHT) model, which emphasizes group collaboration and individual responsibility. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model on students' learning achievement. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test post-test control group design. The sample consisted of 70 students divided into an experimental group and a control group using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through tests, observations, and interviews, and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with SPSS version 26, including normality test, homogeneity test, independent sample t-test, and paired sample t-test. The results showed a significant difference between the learning outcomes of the experimental and control groups with a significance value of 0.000 0.05. In addition, the average score of the experimental group increased from 86.08 to 94.25 after the implementation of the NHT model. Thus, the Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model is proven to be effective in improving students' learning achievement in Islamic Religious Education and Character at SMK Batik 1 Surakarta.
