Abstract
Cultivation of straw mushrooms in Indonesia is still relatively new. In fact, Indonesia has high air humidity and abundant rice-waste raw materials, which are ideal for straw mushroom cultivation. Straw mushrooms contain 25.9–28.5% protein, higher than rice and wheat, with 2.0–2.6% fat and 2.7–4.8% carbohydrates. Farmers often face difficulties maintaining optimal temperature and humidity inside the mushroom house (kumbung), especially during the rainy season. This study aims to design a monitoring and automatic control system for temperature and humidity based on the Internet of Things (IoT) using the Blynk application as a remote monitoring tool. The system is equipped with notifications, manual control, and an LCD display. The device uses a DHT22 temperature sensor, a NodeMCU ESP32 as the microcontroller, relays as electrical switches, a DC pump for water spraying to maintain temperature, and a humidifier to increase humidity inside the mushroom house. When the temperature rises, the pump sprays water, while when humidity drops, the system activates the humidifier. The data are sent to the Blynk application for remote monitoring. The system operates automatically to maintain temperatures between 30–35°C and high humidity levels according to the needs of straw mushrooms. Monitoring through the application and LCD works properly. The designed device is capable of maintaining optimal conditions in the mushroom house efficiently, making it easier for farmers to supervise and control the cultivation environment while reducing manual labor because the system works automatically.
