Abstract

Indoor air quality is one of the important factors that affect health and comfort. Various problems such as dust, excessive room humidity, hazardous gases and poor lighting can reduce air quality, while filter systems in general are not able to provide real-time monitoring and remote control. This study aims to develop an air filter system with an ESP32 microcontroller integrated with an Android application via a WiFi connection. This system uses a DHT22 sensor to measure room temperature and humidity, a GPY2Y1010AU0F sensor to detect dust particles, an MQ-135 sensor to detect gas and musty odors, and a BH1750 sensor to measure light intensity. All data obtained from the sensors is processed into the microcontroller and can be displayed through an Android application created using Android Studio so that users can monitor room air conditions directly. Tool testing was also carried out with several room air qualities such as differences in humidity, dust levels. The results of the tool test can show that the system works well, accurately, in real time, and responsively in monitoring room air quality and can be controlled remotely. With this system, it is expected that the existing room air quality can be improved while having a direct impact on environmental health.
