Abstract

Background: Verbal and dental wellbeing is an critical component of common wellbeing among rudimentary school children. The high prevalence of oral and dental health problems in children indicates that knowledge regarding proper oral and dental care still needs to be improved. Elementary school students require educational media that are appropriate to their cognitive developmental stage so that the material can be optimally understood, one of which is audiovisual media. Objective: This consider pointed to decide the adequacy of audiovisual-based instructive video media in moving forward information of verbal and dental wellbeing care among rudimentary school understudies. Methods: This study employed a quantitative design with a quasi-experimental approach using a pre-test and post-test control group design. The research subjects were fifth-grade students of SDN Mangkuyudan who were divided into intervention and control groups. The research instrument was a questionnaire assessing oral and dental health knowledge. Results: The paired sample t-test showed a significant increase in the mean knowledge score in the intervention group after receiving the audiovisual educational video (p < 0.001). The autonomous t-test comes about shown that the post-test cruel information score of the mediation gather was essentially higher than that of the control bunch (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Audiovisual-based educational video media are effective in improving knowledge of oral and dental health care among elementary school students
