Abstract

Trosemi Village Office encounters difficulties in managing employee attendance and payroll due to manual data recording using Microsoft Excel. This approach is considered inefficient and prone to data inaccuracies. This study aims to design and develop a geolocation-based web attendance application integrated with a payroll system to support employee administration processes. System development adopts the Waterfall method, which consists of requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance stages. The application is built using the Laravel framework with a Model–View–Controller (MVC) architecture, MySQL as the database management system, and a responsive user interface developed with Bootstrap. A geolocation validation feature is implemented to ensure attendance records can only be submitted within predefined locations. The results of Black Box testing show that all system functions operate as expected. In addition, usability testing using the System Usability Scale (SUS) resulted in an average score of 82.25, which falls into the good category. These results indicate that the system is easy to use and well accepted by users. Overall, the developed system improves the efficiency and accuracy of attendance and payroll management at the village office.
