Abstract
The increase in drug crimes in Indonesia, including in Boyolali Regency, indicates that the conventional criminalization approach of imprisonment is not fully effective in tackling drug abuse. The majority of perpetrators are abusers who essentially require recovery through rehabilitation. This condition emphasizes the urgency of implementing Restorative justice as an alternative approach that is more humane and oriented towards the recovery of perpetrators, victims, and the community. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Restorative justice in handling drug crimes in Boyolali Regency and identify obstacles and solutions implemented by the Boyolali District Attorney's Office. The research method used is empirical juridical with a qualitative approach, through literature review and interviews with law enforcement officials. The results show that the application of Restorative justice has been implemented in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations, especially for drug abusers who are not involved in drug trafficking networks. However, its implementation still faces obstacles such as limited rehabilitation facilities, administrative constraints, and low public understanding. This research is expected to provide academic and practical contributions to the development of fairer, more effective, and dignified law enforcement policies in handling drug crimes.
