Abstract
Electric Multiple Units (EMUs) rely on an integrated electrical system to support the operation of various auxiliary equipment, such as air conditioning (AC) systems, compressors, and other auxiliary loads. Unbalanced power distribution among loads and phases may reduce energy stability, increase power losses, and disturb the overall stability of the train electrical system. This study aims to analyze the power distribution characteristics of the electrical system of the New Generation Electric Multiple Unit (EMU), focusing on both main loads and auxiliary loads. The analysis was conducted through measurements of electrical parameters, including current, voltage, and frequency, as well as power quality calculations under various operating conditions, both during transient states and full-load conditions. The results show that auxiliary loads consistently operate using a two-phase configuration, while AC units and compressors exhibit relatively balanced current distribution among phases, with imbalance levels remaining within permissible limits. Furthermore, the Auxiliary Power Supply (APS) and Static Inverter (SIV) systems are capable of maintaining stable voltage, frequency, and overall power quality effectively. These findings indicate that the electrical system of the New Generation EMU operates in accordance with its design specifications and demonstrates good reliability in power distribution. The results of this study are expected to serve as a technical evaluation reference for power capacity planning and the development of electrical systems in future generations of EMUs.
