Abstract

The Hangcha CPC30-XRW10 forklift is a vital material-handling equipment in the logistics operations of PT Indolift Sukses Abadi, with a lifting capacity of up to three tons. One of the main issues encountered is the high downtime caused by failures in the hydraulic system, primarily due to the lack of scheduled maintenance activities. The company previously relied on corrective maintenance, where repairs were performed only after breakdowns occurred, resulting in reduced equipment effectiveness and productivity. This research aims to reduce downtime, improve equipment efficiency, and extend component life through the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). The TPM approach focuses on three main pillars: Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, and Focused Improvement, which were implemented gradually. Equipment performance evaluation was conducted using parameters such as Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). The results indicate a reduction in downtime from 188 hours to 120 hours after the implementation of TPM. The OEE value also showed a significant improvement, reflecting higher levels of availability, performance, and quality. Therefore, the application of TPM proved effective in enhancing the reliability of the forklift’s hydraulic system and improving the overall operational efficiency of the company.
