Abstract
This study aims to: (1) describe the forms of social criticism in the lyrics of the band .Feast's song album "Semua Orang Memaafkan"; (2) reveal the meaning of social criticism contained in the lyrics; and (3) explain the relevance of the results of the analysis for literature learning in high school. Research Objectives (1) Describe the forms of social criticism contained in the lyrics of the band .Feast's song in the album "Semua Orang Memaafkan" (Some People Memaafkan). (2) Reveal the meaning of social criticism conveyed through the lyrics of the songs in the album.(3) Explain the relevance of the results of the analysis of social criticism in the lyrics of the song .Feast on the album "Semua Orang Memaafkan" with literature learning at the high school level. The study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a Roland Barthes semiotic approach, with data in the form of song lyrics on the album "Semua Orang Memaafkan". Data were collected through documentation and note- taking techniques, then analyzed by identifying text units containing social criticism, grouping them into thematic categories, and interpreting their meaning based on social context and social criticism theory. The research results show that the lyrics of .Feast contain social criticism in the areas of intolerance, violence, injustice, abuse of power, and socio-religious issues. The social criticism is present in both explicit and implicit forms, thus simultaneously emphasizing the aesthetic and social functions of song lyrics. This finding is relevant for high school literature learning because song lyrics rich in social criticism can be used as contextual teaching materials to develop literary appreciation, critical thinking, and social sensitivity in students.
