Abstract
Advances in information and communication technology have provided extraordinary benefits, but have also given rise to new problems, particularly the rise in cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is a form of intimidation, harassment, or humiliation carried out through digital platforms, which can have profound psychological impacts on victims. This study focuses on evaluating existing legal protection mechanisms and the effectiveness of law enforcement in handling these cases. The methodology applied is a normative juridical approach through a comprehensive analysis of applicable regulations, relevant court decisions, and various academic literature sources. Research findings reveal that although Indonesia has a legal basis, such as the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE), which regulates cyberbullying, the implementation of legal protection for victims still faces various limitations. Several significant obstacles identified include low levels of public awareness and understanding of cyberbullying, limitations in the law enforcement system, and a lack of comprehensive psychological support services for victims. This situation results in many cases not being handled optimally. To address this problem, solid collaboration is needed between various parties, including law enforcement officials, educational institutions, and all elements of society. This integrated effort must include improving the quality of legal protection, providing adequate psychological counseling services, and educational programs to minimize the destructive impact of cyberbullying on victims' mental health.
