Abstract

This research discusses the role of the Surakarta Office of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection as well as Population Control and Family Planning (DP3AP2KB) in preventing and overcoming sexual violence against children. In addition, this research discusses the views of Islamic law regarding the importance of protecting children from sexual violence. This research uses an empirical juridical approach and descriptive analysis with qualitative methods. Field research was conducted at DP3AP2KB Surakarta to examine the agency's role in handling child sexual abuse. The results showed that DP3AP2KB plays a role in prevention in the form of socialization, education, and the establishment of integrated service posts. In handling cases of sexual violence, DP3AP2KB provides assistance in the form of legal assistance, psychological assistance, and medical assistance. According to the view of Islamic law, sexual violence against children is often associated with zina majazi or sexual harassment which is included in jarimah ta'zir.
