Abstract

This research is motivated by the need of SMPN 1 Colomadu to adapt to developments in information technology by providing information services that are fast, accurate, and easily accessible to all school members and the wider community. The previously available school website still had various shortcomings, such as an unattractive user interface, ineffective navigation, inconsistent content updates, and a lack of interactive features to support two-way communication between the school and users, thereby hindering the effectiveness of disseminating both academic and non-academic information. This research focuses on developing a school website that is more modern, responsive, user-friendly, and relevant to user needs. It utilizes the Research and Development (R&D) method with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) to ensure the development process proceeds systematically and logically, producing a feasible end product. The evaluation of website quality was conducted through expert validation and user testing to ensure that aspects of functionality, visual appearance, usability, and accessibility meet the standards of a good web-based information system. This development is also directed at supporting the implementation of digital transformation within the school. Consequently, the publication of activity information, student achievements, academic schedules, and administrative services can be carried out in a structured and integrated manner through a single official online platform managed by the school. The final result of this research is intended to provide a tangible contribution to improving the quality of educational services at SMPN 1 Colomadu. Furthermore, it aims to serve as a model for school website development that can be implemented in other educational institutions to support the realization of a professional and highly competitive digital education ecosystem.
