Abstract

Sukoharjo Regency is a regency that is currently experiencing growth and development, one of which is in the economic sector. Therefore, strategies and efforts are needed to encourage the economy and increase the competitiveness of Sukoharjo Regency, namely through efforts to improve productivity. The development and growth also result in an increasing need for public spaces in Sukoharjo Regency. However, the availability of facilities and infrastructure to improve productivity and public spaces in Sukoharjo Regency is still lacking, not yet optimal, and not yet inclusive. These problems form the basis for the design of the Sukoharjo Creative and Community Center, which functions as a place for creativity and social interaction. The purpose of this design is to create a space or center to develop creativity, ideas, and concepts, as well as a space for inclusive social activities so that it can support existing potentials, encourage the economy and tourism, and improve the quality of life of the people in Sukoharjo Regency. The design concept is a combination of creative spaces, which include creative rooms, training rooms, and exhibition rooms, with social interaction spaces that are designed inclusively by applying the principles of Universal Design. This design applies the Universal Design approach by implementing principles such as equitable use, flexibility in use, simple and intuitive use, perceptible information, tolerance for error, low physical effort, and appropriate size and space for approach and use. This design is located in Sukoharjo District, which is one of the strategic urban areas for the purpose of growth and economic development in Sukoharjo Regency. The design of the Sukoharjo Creative and Community Center is expected to be a representation of an inclusive center of creativity and community in Sukoharjo Regency.
