Abstract

Concrete isone of the most widely used construction materials due its high compressive strength and ease of molding into various structural forms. Along with the increasing demand dor efficient and environmentally friendly construction materials, innovations are needed to reduce cement consumption without decreasing the equality of concrete. This research aims to determine the effect of adding polyurethane resin as a partial cement substitute on the characteristics of concrete based on a mix design Fc’25. The polyurethane variations of 0%, 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5% by cement weight were tested using cylindrical specimens measuring 15 cm in diameter and 30 cm in height. The tests included slump, density, and compressive strength at 28 days. The result showed that the slump values ranged from 9.1 to 9.6 cm, which still met the SNI 1972-2008 standard, indicating good workability. The density slightly decreased from 2334.27 kg/m3 to 2302.45 kg/m3, while the compressive strength increased from 24.58 MPa to 26.80 MPa. Representing an 8.28% improvement at 1.5% polyurethane content. These findings indicate that polyurethane resin enhances the internal structure of concrete and improves its compressive strength without significantly reducing its physical properties.
