Abstract
Children with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) significantly affect the quality of life of their families, especially mothers as the primary caregivers. This study aims to describe the quality of life of mothers caring for children with DMD. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. The subject was a mother selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using Johnny Saldana’s data analysis technique, including coding, categorization, theme development, and interpretation. The findings indicate that the mother’s quality of life is reflected in feelings of happiness in her maternal role, increased patience and maturity, and the application of spiritual principles in daily life. Factors influencing the mother’s quality of life include psychological, social, environmental, and physical aspects, strengthened by self-acceptance, economic conditions, social support, and motivation from the child.
