Abstract

This study aims to determine the job readiness of Generation Z students in Surakarta City. The research method uses a quantitative approach with descriptive analysis. The research subjects were 297 Generation Z students in Surakarta, selected using a cluster random sampling technique. The participant criteria were undergraduate students, aged 21-26 (Gen Z), and active students in Surakarta. The research instrument was a job readiness questionnaire distributed through Google Forms. The results showed that the majority of respondents had a job readiness level in the medium category (42.4%), followed by high (30.6%) and low (15.8%) categories. Only a small number of respondents were in the very high (3%) and very low (8.1%) categories. Based on the aspects studied, responsibility was in the medium category (37%), flexibility was in the high category (38%), self-perception was in the very high category (91.6%), occupational health and safety were in the medium category (38.7%), communication was in the medium category (36.4%), and skills were also in the medium category (39.1%). If detailed further, hard skills are in the moderate category (48.1%), while soft skills are in the moderate category (58.2%).
