Abstract

Urbanization can affect population growth and can bring about several changes. Because increasing population growth can increase changes in land use into built-up land or evaporating surfaces. Land use change in South Jakarta is increasing due to urbanization and population growth. This causes changes in the average temperature of the city, where the loss of vegetation is replaced by semipermanent buildings and paved roads which results in increased heat absorption so that South Jakarta has a higher temperature than the surrounding environment. The research method used is quantitative. The analysis methods used are Supervisid Clasification, Land Surface Temperature (LST) and correlation analysis. The results of this study show that Maximum Likelihood processing results show land use change in South Jakarta City for 10 years has experienced significant changes caused by population growth. Land Surface Temperature South Jakarta City has an average surface temperature of 29 - 34ºC - 41 - 46ºC. The results of the correlation analysis found that there is a negative value, where the higher the area of land use change, the lower the average Urban Heat Island. Sig. (2-tailed) < than 0.05, then there is a significant correlation between the area of land use change and the average Urban Heat Island. The correlation coefficient is -694 which has a strong level of strength. Based on the research, it is concluded that land use change can cause South Jakarta City to experience an increase in urban temperature.
